Presenting Companies: Optima Ltd.
Core Business / Technology
Optimata is an interdisciplinary, science-based company focusing on the development of simulation and optimization technologies for accelerating drug development in the pharmaceutical industry and for optimizing drug treatment.
Main Markets / Applications
Pharmaceutical developers in cancer, angiogenesis and hematopoietic diseases (Pharma and Biotech companies);
Regulatory agencies;
HMOs;
CROs
Hospitals;
Private clinics.
Main Products Marketed or Under Development
Optimata develops and markets computer-based products for accelerating the critical path in drug development. These products, inclusively named “Virtual Patient Engines”, provide a comprehensive solution for drug development, from the pre-clinical phase through treatment personalization. They include a detailed computer algorithms of pharmacological and biomedical drug-patient Interactive processes, thus enabling drug developers to perform rapid virtual clinical trials and, hence, to forecast optimal mono and combo regimens of cytotoxic, biologic and/or supportive drugs. The company has completed the development of Virtual Patient engines for cancer, angiogenesis-driven and hematopoietic diseases. Optimata’s Virtual Cancer Patient Engine now undergoes multi-center “Phase-I” clinical trials in breast cancer patients.
Uniqueness / Advantage over Existing Products
Optimata’s products, which are “bottom-up” process-driven and labor-intensive, are unique mainly in offering a unified systematic solution for improving predictability and efficiency in drug development, from laboratory concept to clinical implementation. Optimata’s IP products forecast: 1. Phase-I doses, based on animal trials; 2. Optimal Schedules for meeting endpoints, which were predefined by customer; 3. Patient Populations; 4. Personalized treatments. We are aware of only a few other companies in this niche, though their approach differs widely from ours (Gene Networks – identifying intracellular targets; Pharsight – statistical analysis of clinical trials, and Entelos – data-driven probabilistic models for immunologic diseases).
